The Restoration Series is a six-part educational study that examines the historical and doctrinal differences between the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) and the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement (SDARM). It addresses important questions about the origins of the Reform Movement, the circumstances surrounding its development, and the biblical convictions that distinguish its understanding of Christian discipleship.
Rather than treating church history as a collection of dates and events, this series considers how questions of faith, conscience, obedience to God, and loyalty to biblical principles have shaped the identity of the Reform Movement. It offers viewers an opportunity to learn why the movement emerged, why some believers concluded that reform could not be accomplished simply by remaining within the established church structure, and how particular teachings and practices became central to its convictions.
The presentations explore six subjects: the old paths, communion, the Sabbath, the family, politics, and war. Together, these topics provide a framework for examining the relationship between Scripture and Christian practice, the meaning of faithfulness during times of testing, and the responsibility of believers to follow their understanding of God's Word.
The purpose is not merely to identify differences or to encourage debate. It is to promote thoughtful study, a clearer understanding of the historical record, and a sincere examination of biblical principles. Viewers are encouraged to compare the presentations with the Scriptures, review relevant historical documents, and reach informed conclusions with humility and a desire to follow truth.
Whether you are a church member seeking a deeper understanding of your spiritual heritage, a student of Adventist history, or someone learning about the Reform Movement for the first time, this series provides a starting point for further study and reflection.
“Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.” Jeremiah 6:16
